Instant Pot BBQ Chicken Sliders

Feb152017 posted by Amy 17 Comments

Hello friends!  It’s Amy from My Name Is Snickerdoodle again and I’m happy to be sharing these super easy BBQ Chicken Sliders.  The best part is they take 15 minutes to make using the Instant Pot!   I’m always looking for super easy meals to make for my family because it seems like life just keeps getting busier.  These would be great for lunch, dinner or any party!

If you are serving them for a party, have a bunch of different toppings set out along side a full tray of these sliders.  You could have chopped lettuce, pickles, jalapeños, sliced tomatoes, cheese and mustard.

I served these pretty plain because I still have little boys at home.  They are a pickles only bunch and I used pretty mild BBQ sauce.  That’s what great about this recipe is that you can pretty much use what your family loves.

If you don’t have an instant pot you most certainly could make this in the crock pot.  Just omit the water and add the BBQ sauce to the frozen chicken.  Cook on low for 5-6 hours.  Shred it all in the crock pot and serve.

This looks great! If my chicken is not frozen how long do I cook it in the IP?

I just made this tonight except I cooked the chicken in chicken broth with a little liquid smoke added to give it some extra flavor. I tossed it with some mild BBQ sauce with spicy sauce on the side for those who like it. (WE are a house divided).

Something was probably not set right on your instant pot then? Did you go by the timer on your pot? It takes awhile for the machine to build up pressure first. Or maybe your pressure valve wasn’t set right? I’m sorry it gave you issues… nothing worse than expecting dinner to be ready at a certain time only to find out it isn’t.

If you double the recipe, should you change the time to cook it?

No you shouldn’t need to. Just be sure not to fill it past the max fill line on your Instant Pot. 🙂

Just follow the cooking time that came with your instant pot. Usually 6-8 minutes. 🙂

I have heard that you should natural release the steam when done, otherwise the meat will be tough.

If you have a stand mixer (or even a hand mixer), use the paddle attachment to shred your chicken. It is super fast and shreds it perfectly. Game changer, I promise. I plan to make this recipe for the first time for my nieces baby shower next weekend and I’m excited to see how it turns out!
