now is the time to get those teacher appreciation gifts ready.
and i think most teachers would enjoy getting one of these cute boxes.
so grab yourself one of these boxes.
sold at most crafts stores… and even wally world.
you’ll find them down the aisle with all the pretty beads.
take a piece of computer paper and trace around the top piece of the box.
cut it out. now you have a pattern.
next take some ribbon. wrap it around your box. make sure you have plenty to make a bow.
go through your scrapbook paper stash and find 3 coordinating papers.
or head to your closest scrapbook store and pick up some of this adorable paper by my mind’s eye.
using your pattern. cut out a top piece out of one paper and a bottom piece out of another.
then cut about a 1/2 inch strip of your third paper.
glue all three pieces on to your box.
using some stickers. write out the lucky teacher’s name.
and then finish it off with a die cut or something.
(this little birdie is from my mind’s eye also)
once you have the outside decorated it’s time to fill up the inside with fun stuff.
sanitizer, push pins, paper clips, magnets and CHOCOLATE!
(i found all of it at walmart except for the hand sanitizer i picked up at bath &body works)
and even though we’re still a little upset mrs. olson decided to have a healthy teeth party on
valentine’s day… we still appreciate all she does!! 🙂
. . . . . . . . . .
ETA: glue dots were used to attach all of the papers. one was placed under the paper to attach it to the ribbon, but you can always use more.

My friend Marni @ Sassy Sites posted this on her blog yesterday and I'M SO GLAD SHE DID!!! I just had to comment and tell you how totally adorable this idea is and that I'm so thankful that you shared it! I can't wait to finish mine – and it's a good thing because I don't have much time! 🙂

Just made these "survival" kits for my son's three favorite middle school teachers. I added a travel sized Tylenol bottle, single serve coffee packet and a single serve lemonaid packet to the kit (being that they deal with 13 year olds all day) :). I also made a small survival kit for my elementary school kid's bus driver, complete with chocolate, gum, Motrin packets, ear plugs, and an air freshener! Thanks for posting such a great and easy gift idea!

My cousin who taught for many years always told her classes she would love a Christmas tree ornament with their name on it so she could remember them each year when she decorated her tree.
Mia says
How much did that cost?
Cheryl says
I love this idea! School is almost over, but it would be a nice way to thank my child's teacher.
Kris says
I know this post is almost 6 years old, but I just found it in my search to find a Christmas gift for my kids’ teachers that they can keep. My district has a rule that we can’t give gifts that total over $150 for the entire class (which includes Christmas and Teacher Appreciation Week), which adds up very quickly when there are 23 kids in a class. They are allowed to keep things that they can use in their class, however, so this is perfect! Thank you!
Jodie and Jen says
So glad you like it Kris! and interesting rule that you’re district has…. 🙂
