You Gotta See This!

Jan282011 posted by Jodie and Jen 51 Comments

for last year’s valentines we totally jumped on the bandwagon and made the tootsie pop valentines.
i gotta admit. who ever thought of this idea is genius!
they were the cutest valentine’s ever and i’m not sure if we’ll ever top them.
but we will try.
(the idea for these originally came from HERE. thanks for letting us know Char.)

here are some ideas we are considering for this year. 🙂
1. Robots by Seasonal Expressions
i believe i came across these over on pinterest.
the perfect boy valentine.
2.  I Dig You
from Jeana at In Place of her Crown.
so… super cute!
3. I “wheelie” like you.
from Mique at 30 handmade days.
too, too fun!!
4. We make a great Pair!
found via Skip to my Lou.
i think i might do this for my hubby. he can always use new socks. 🙂
5. Don’t Ever Change
by Jac o’ lyn Murphy.
chocolate coins are the best. 🙂

6. Color Your Own Valentines
by Shabby Chic Crafts.
how fun!! and super cheap!!

7.  clothespin valentines
by Kierste at Brown Paper Packages.
so cute!!
8. The Best Crush
by Ashley at Under the Sycamore
another great Valentine using a cute picture!
9. M&M Bottles
by Heather over at Whipperberry.
i’d love to give these out to all my friends.
they also make me want to redo all my valentine decorations in grey and pink!

10. And of course our
Candy Bar Valentines.
(we also have a few more ideas up our sleeve… we’ll be sharing next week)

So have you decided what you’ll be doing for Valentine’s this year??
We’d love to hear… or even better see them!!

I couldn't find an online tutorial for the pop valentines, but I can explain how it's done. It's so simple that it probably doesn't warrant a full tutorial:

First, take a picture of the subject (child, etc.) posing like they're holding something in front of them towards the photographer.

You can use photo editing software to add text, etc. to the image.

When you print them, you cut a small hole at the top and bottom of the hand and slide the pop through the holes.

You can also mount the photograph on colored paper (like this post has) to add some color.

I hope this helps – I can't take credit for the idea, but at least I can help share how it's done!
