Pizza Rolls are super easy to make and the perfect lunch when everyone is at home!
Today is the last day of school for us ( I’m a bit nervous… I must admit ) and I am on the HUNT for lunch ideas.
I’m sure my kids will be eating plenty of kraft mac&cheese, pb&j, frozen corn dogs, spaghettiOs and enough junk food to keep a small convenience store open. BUT. I’m hoping we can squeeze in some quick, but yummy new lunches this summer too.
I have found one winner that I know they’ll be loving.
PIZZA ROLLS
They are way too easy to make!
You’ll need:
1 package of refrigerated crescents
4 sticks of string cheese (cut in half)
Pepperoni
Parmesan cheese (optional)
Pizza sauce
Directions:
unroll and separate the crescents
sprinkle with Parmesan cheese (I’m not sure how much taste this added so it’s optional :))
pile on some pepperoni and half of a string cheese
roll it up!
bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes
then enjoy with some warmed pizza sauce
pretty tasty in my opinion
so… do you have any other quick and easy lunch ideas for me?
(feel free to leave a link in the comments… please. haha)
we love making these – – you can even make a ton and then freeze them and just pull out a few to bake at a time — yummy!
I love these too. So easy and super tasty!!
This is one of our favorite 'Dad isn't home for dinner' recipes that the kids make themselves! They are so good!
Super simple and I'm sure the family will love them! Thanks for sharing!
Just FYI these are delicious if before baking you brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese. So yummy! Other than that I got nothing! Sounds like my kids eat a lot of what your kids eat!
I've made these before for me and my husband and they are delicious! Great for when you need something quick. mmmmm now I'm hungry for them 🙂
These look yummy and something my boys would eat. I went and got a quesadilla maker 6 months ago and my kiddos love making there own for lunch or supper. They make cheese quesadillas, pizza, cheese and chicken, cheese and ham. I want to try and make a dessert one with mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallowe. The possibilities are endless and they love that they are making their lunch.
When we make baked chicken or something similar for dinner, I'll make extra chicken and then throw it in the crockpot with enchilada sauce for the next day. Simple taco wraps with cheese and tomatoes/lettuce.
We also do ham and cheese roll ups, baked mac and cheese (mac and cheese baked with ham in cupcake pans), also we do the usual pb&j.
Somewhat of the same concept as this but use french bread, cheese of choice and a small can of pizza sauce – super fast and yummy
Homemade corn dogs! 1 box corn muffin mix (mixed according to directions on box). Fill muffin tins about 1/2 full and then add part of a hot dog (about a 1/4- 1/3rd of one), bake according to corn bread muffin directions. Our favorite is using a mini muffin pan (adjust cooking time accordingly), but the regular size muffin pans are yummy!
Yummy!
They look yummy! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

You can actually put anything on these- like substitute pepperoni for all the peppers. Great snack for mom, too – 146 calories per serving.
love these easy meals. Thanks for posting, we're going to try these.

these look yummy!
my kids like to make cheese/chicken quesadillas, pinwheels, nachos, etc. I also like to prewash and cut up fruit/veggies so they can have those for a quick snack too.
We recently discovered that my kids love homemade pot pies. Kids each picked a different shaped mini baker at Ross ($2) to make them in. And they LOVE that they have thier own dish and they get to put their own stuff in it. Best of all – we always make ours from leftovers.
Ingredients:
– canned cresent roll dough (2 per pie)
– left over meat (rotisserie chicken, turkey legs, holiday ham)
– left over veggies – cut into bite sized chunks (we typically throw in the cooked carrots, and potatoes from our crock pot Sunday roast)
– Flour & butter to start the roux
– chicken stock
Directions:
– Spray dishes with cooking spray.
– Put a layer of cresent roll dough on the bottom & up the sides of all the dishes. (we sometimes skip this step if we are in a hurry – and just have bread on the top)
– Cook until lightly golden (~8-10 minutes) Can be done ahead of time, and allowed to cool for safety.
– Stuff about 2/3 full with meat & veggies.
– Create roux with equal parts flour and butter. Add chicken stock and a little pepper and simmer for a few minutes to thicken.
– Pour over stuffing, leaving a little room at the top.
– Cover top with 2nd cresent. Poke a few holes in the top.
– Bake until golden (~12-15 minutes)
– Allow to cool for a few minutes, then serve.
For my youngest I pop his out of the baking dish and put it into another dish so he doesn't have to worry about touching the hot (or still warm) dish. My twin 5 year olds eat straight from the oven dish.
just made these for dinner tonight and they were a hit! thanks for the easy quick recipe. It will definitely be a summer staple.
These look great! Thank you for sharing. I'm going to have to try them with my crew.
those loojk great! my kids will love making them and eating them!
They look so delicious! Not sure if I can get those crescent wrappers here in Australia, but will make do and get creative. Thanks for sharing 🙂
