  20. We would LOVE whale watching, kayak fishing (for the hubby), but mostly just the beach. It would be wonderful just to have a few days to relax, that doesn't happen often enough!

  25. Our family moved from So Cal to Idaho in 2008, and the two things we miss the most (besides friends) is the beach and the restaurants. So we'd love to soak up the sun at the beach and try some restaurants (21 Oceanfront Restaurant looks like it would make the perfect date).

  28. The beach! A couple years ago we went to San Diego. My kids would have been completely happy skipping Sea World and the Zoo and spending every waking minute at the beach. The Coron Del Mar beach looks like a FABULOUS place to set up camp for a few days and let these poor land locked children have fun!

  67. As a young teen I grew up reading the Robin Jones Gunn "Christy Miller" book series! In the book the young teen visits her wealthy Aunt and Uncle who live in Newport Beach each summer! She meets new people, has many new experiences, and grows with her summers and time in Newport Beach! Ever since reading the books it has been a dream to go to the area. My favorite places to visit would be Fashion Island, the Farmers Market and then also take the Balboa Island Ferry to Balboa Island to ride bikes and get a Balboa Bar.

  72. I grew up very close to Newport Beach & miss it tremendously. If I had a chance to go back, I'd munch a frozen banana on the boardwalk, take a whale watching cruise, and be sure to have a shake at Ruby's on the pier!

  73. We were just watching a video of our last trip to the beach…THREE YEARS AGO! I was just pricing flights!! I would have to say that the 10 miles of Orange County beach would be the best part of the vacation! And my kids would want to stop by the Balboa Fun Zone!

  91. Newport Beach is awesome! Tons of great things to do, but nothing better than jumping in the push bikes with my family of four and peddling throught the Newport Beach Balboa Pier and riding the ferry!

  156. Oh my, oh my!!! We have never been there but oh the fun we could have! The stand up paddle boats and beach look absolutely amazing (we love no where close to a beach). What a gorgeous area and would love to check it our with my family!

  158. Oh I know exactly what ammenities I'd like….anything with water and plenty of it. Being forced into leaving So. Cal after living there my entire life, I miss the luxury of going to the beach whenever I wanted.

  179. I would like to drive down the Newport Coast – my closest beach is Galveston Tx, so I would love to see a real beach with blue water instead of brown! I would also love to hike in the nature preserve.

  247. Newport beach is one of my favorite places! I love paddle boarding and then heading over to balboa for a worlds famous frozen banana. (taking the ferry to get there of course)

  250. Oh, my! Newport Beach…I so want to be there right now!! The Hyatt definitely seems like best place to stay. I would definitely want to check out 930 Sushi and the Farmers Market.

  251. I want to be there so bad right now, I can't stand it. Looking at all the fun things to do and yummy restaurants to try made me determined to get to Newport Beach before the year is over! I would definitely go the Farmers Market, hand on the beach and go whale watching. Crossing my fingers that my name is drawn.

  255. We used to visit Newport Beach as a family every year. This hasn't happened since I moved to Virginia. I love Balboa Island, the shopping, the nice cool breeze, and other wise small town feel of that place. I think my beach spot between lifeguard stations 31 and 32 are calling my name! 🙂

  328. My children said they would like to learn how to surf, the kids club looked like lots of fun! I wold just enjoy watching them having a great time and escaping life for a moment with my toes in the sand, listening to the waves crash,tasting the salt from the ocean water, and maybe sipping a pina colada!

  345. I would love to take a vacation to the beach! My husband grew up surfing in FL and now being landlocked in Utah, we obviously to don't get any beach time! We have three boys, one of which has special needs and it takes all of our money to care for him and his medical needs. I would love to take them on a family vacation that they would never forget!

  355. If I were to be able to go to Newport Beach the first thing I would do is make my little guy put his toes in the sand. He's never been to a beach, my little girl has when she was an infant…ahh the beach would be so much fun for them..which in turn means it would be fun for Mom and Dad.

  373. My sister and I have dreamed of going to Newport Beach since I was in middle school. Our favorite book series(The Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn) was set there, and we have always want to relive the books by actually going there. I would just love to have a bonfire on the beach there. That isn't allowed on most east coast beaches nearby where we live.

  406. I absolutely LOVE Newport Beach! I would go there every year as soon as school got out and it is still my favorite place to this day! Riding beach cruisers along the boardwalk…taking the ferry over to Balboa Island…staying on the beach all day…going to the pier…Crab Cooker..the list goes on and on! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Newport!

  500. AH I miss Newport! I remember staying at these Corona del Mar vacation rentals when I went there a few years ago, and I would love to be able to visit again. Whale watching and surfing are definitely activities everyone should get involved in while visiting this area. Also a great middle point for anyone wanting to visit San Diego and LA for the day.
