Five Ways We Love To Use Post-it® Notes

Mar102015 posted by Jodie and Jen 9 Comments

We are so excited to share some ideas with you on ways we love to use Post-it® Notes! First of all, don’t you love these beautiful colors? The new Post-it Brand World of Color collections are just perfection. They are available in a range of exciting new colors with new color palettes inspired by colors from cities around the world! I’m over the moon that I can use them all over my house and they don’t stick out like a sore thumb. The colors fit right in with what I already have going on in my house. Score!
On to the five ways we love to use Post-it® Notes!…
01 | As A Countdown
Seems like there is always something to countdown, right?!  It might not be a trip to Rio de Janeiro but counting down adds a little excitement to the day to day. Throw some Post-it® Notes in the back of your notebook or calendar and go crazy!
02 | As a Bookmark
Isn’t this simple and genius?!  Don’t worry about your bookmark falling out because once you place a Post-it® Note, it’s not going anywhere. You can also specify exactly where you left off. Love it!
03 | In The Car
We keep a pad of Post-it® Notes in the car because let’s be honest, it is sometimes your home away from home.  We were joking about reminding yourself to feed your children or to pick them up from school. On the REALLY crazy days, those Post-it® Notes would come in handy.

04 | On The Pantry Door
Everyone needs to try this out!  It really simplifies life.  There is nothing worse than getting to the store and forgetting what you needed. This way, you can have an on-going list using Post-it® Notes, and when you head to the store, just grab the list off the cupboard. Easy peasy!

05 | On The Chore Chart
Seems like chore charts are always changing.  Sometimes, the chores don’t work out and need to be removed.  Obviously, you will want to rotate the chores or maybe a child will head off to college (insert: tears) and be relieved of their duty.  Using Post-it® Notes will make it so simple!  We used the Bora Bora Color collection for our chore chart and the colors coordinate so well it doesn’t matter how they are arranged, they always look great together. We can just rotate the names or keep the names in place and rotate the chores. Brilliant!

We would love to hear how you put Post-it® Notes to work in your home or at work. Please share with us in the comments!

Love the bookmark idea! I'm always forgetting where I ended and end up flipping through the book for awhile until I can narrow down where I was. This is perfect!

I love that idea as well. No more scanning to find where you left off… you can mark the exact spot! 🙂

These are great ideas. I like the vacation countdown. When I taught first grade, I used the mini Post-it notes to organize flexible reading groups. I set up a binder with dividers (the plastic / poly kind — one divider for each reading group), and wrote one student's name on each mini Post-it note. Then, I attached their Post-it notes to the divider for their group. Whenever I needed to move a student to a different group, I just took the Post-it note off and stuck it on the divider for the group to which they were moving. It worked really well, and I was able to use the same notebook and dividers for several years. I just had to write my students' names on new Post-it notes each fall, and I was good to go! 🙂
