Hey friends, Brooke here from All Things Thrifty and I am seriously so happy I could hang out with you today! I have known the Eighteen25 girls for a very long time and consider them dear friends so it means even more to me that I get to participate in their Spooktacular September!
Also . I LOVE Halloween {see here and here for proof} so I’ll use any excuse to start getting ready earlier! And even though I seriously love this holiday, every year I find myself running to the store to find a trick or treat bag {which is usually like Elmo because that’s all that is left} or BEG my kids not to take my favorite pillow cases out! Ha! This year I got smart though and decided to make a couple so that I can throw them in a tote and get a few uses out of them. I. Am. A Genius. jk. I realize this isn’t new but I am kinda excited to show you how they turned out!
What you’ll need:
- Iron on material of your choosing { THIS is what I used}
- Cutting Machine
- Canvas Tote Bag {or any type will do really}
- Iron
- Ironing Board
- Iron on Images: DIY Trick or Treat Bag Silhouette File or Trick or Treat Yo’Self Bag
As long as you have a little experience with your preferred cutting machine, this project is so simple!
Open and download the above file of your choice. Once you have that up and ready, adjust your settings accordingly and cut out your image. Make sure that before you cut out your image, you flip it horizontally or mirror it.
Once cut, weed the excess.
Center it on your bag before ironing, then using the hottest setting without steam, iron on your image. I also like to take a thin towel or extra piece of fabric and place it over the plastic before using the iron… but that is totally optional!
Make sure you iron the smaller sections really good! You can also go back and iron over them with the towel or fabric once the plastic is off as well and make sure everything is good and adhered!
And that’s it! Look how cute the glitter is!
The cutest little trick or treater! {Who was so confused that she had to put on a costume in August! 😉 }
Well there you have it friends! I hope you enjoy this adorable but simple Halloween project! And another HUGE thank you to my girls Jodie and Jen for letting me hang out today! xoxo — Brooke
