Make an adorable Trick or Treat Yo Self Halloween Shirt for yourself and your friends!
Oh hey, friends! I absolutely adore the 1825 girls and I love getting the chance to pop in for this fun series every year. I’m Rebecca from The Crafted Sparrow, a fun DIY and Home Decor blog. I’m so excited to be sharing a quick and easy Halloween DIY with you today.
I love a really quick and easy DIY, especially fun t-shirts. I whipped this Trick or Treat Yo Self Halloween Shirt up in under 20 minutes with one of my favorite crafting tools. Let’s get started…
Supplies:
- T-Shirt
- Iron-On Vinyl
- Cutting Machine, my favorite is the Cricut Maker
- Iron or heat press
- Cut file for this project found HERE
Start by downloading my original printable found by clicking the link above. After you download it you can open it in your cutting machine software. You will then need to turn it into a cut file with your program.
I love using Cricut’s Iron-On Vinyl for my t-shirts, it stays on through lots of washes. I picked my favorite color combo for this t-shirt, black and white of course. I used a t-shirt I had on hand so this project only cost me what the vinyl cost.
Once you have your design ready to cut in your cutting software be sure to mirror the image since your working with iron-on. Weed your image and using a ruler center your graphics on your t-shirt. Make sure your t-shirt is on a hard and firm heat safe surface for ironing. If you’re using a regular iron be sure your steam setting is turned off and that it’s to the cotton setting. Follow your heat press settings for your materials if using one.
Let your iron-on vinyl cool completely before removing the plastic carrier sheet. Carefully pull it away from the vinyl, if any areas need a little extra heat to adhere better just simply put the carrier sheet back on top and iron over it again. Then let it cool again before removing the sheet.
Once it’s done you will have a super cute tee perfect for your Halloween party, trick or treating, or just because.
I might have “treated” myself by snapping a pic with this cute neighborhood black cat I saw playing around. Give me all the cats!
