Trick or Treat Snack Cups

Happy Spooktacular! I am so grateful to get to participate again this year and have a super simple idea to share with you, that hopefully will help you prepare to share lots of different treats.

 

A couple of times in the last year I have used little five ounce plastic cups and lids to package up a dessert for a party. I made red velvet cupcake crumbles for a picnic box dinner and oreo crumble trifles. Since I crumbled the cake for both of these, I just baked the cake in a 9″x13″ pan. For the cupcake crumbles, I put some cake on the bottom, then piped in cream cheese frosting and covered it with cake. Each time I included a mini spoon from the local dollar store to eat the dessert with…because a miniature spoon seems to make it even more fun. Since this is my new favorite party detail, I thought it would be fun to craft up for Halloween.

 

A 2.5 inch circle punch works perfectly to cover the lid. Then I gathered some Halloween washi tape, punches and rubber stamps. I adhered each decorated circle to the plastic lid with some foam tape.

 

These cups are filled with muddy buddies (we were craving them around here) and a couple were filled with candy corn. However, you could easily fill them with any snack or dessert and it’s a great serving size.

 

One last advantage to these cups (especially if you are using them for cupcakes) is that they are easy to stack, store and transport. Thanks for letting me share my favorite new idea.
