My blurb book obsession + A giveaway

It started a few years back, when Jennifer ordered her first Blog Book from Blurb. We all had to sit and look through the entire thing, admiring all of her hard work and remembering the moments that we had already forgotten about.
I tried to start one on several occasions and would end up getting too frustrated to finish. Until they added the edit layout function. Oh happy day. I was able to add pictures and change them to whatever size I wanted. Make them vertical or horizontal to fit my pictures perfectly. Stretch my text box or shrink it down.
I ended up making books for…
my brother-in-law’s family,
Mother’s Day,
vacations,
but my most favorite are my blog books.
Instead of hundreds of blog entries just sitting on the computer,
four hardbound books now proudly sit on our shelf.
I LOVE them!!
They are a wee bit time consuming. But, when the mailman dropped off my box of books, I couldn’t have been any more school-girl-giddy.

 

My first two books I ordered with the dust jacket. But my next two, I had the image printed right onto the cover (it was only a few bucks more and totally worth it).

  3. Love Blurb! I switched to Blurb from scrapbooking in 2008. I do one book each year of our family pictures. SUPER time consuming (I'm still wrapping up my 2009 book. . . eek), but the end product is so worth it.

  63. I've been working on a blurb book of my now-inactive blog so I can save a keepsake of my daughter's first year. I agree, the edit layout function is what drew my attention to blurb.   126. I am a follower and love your blog. I kept a blog a couple years ago in which I posted one picture a day. It was fabulous to see the special AND the mundane parts of our lives. I printed the blog in a BLURB book and the quality was fantastic. Everyday I want to do the 365 blog again – I would definitely use the Blurb g.c. to print another book!

  171. Following you here. I love Blurb books!!! I have been making them for years. I usually do a family year book for my in laws that live in MA. I also did books just for my duaghter when we would take trips to Disney. I did a really cute book just for her Princess Belle birthday party. They are a lot of fun and if some reason the book gets ruined, I can just order another one, unlike my paper scrapbooks.

  174. I would make a blog book! I started blogging when I became pregnant and have turned my blog into a diary for my baby girl. I write to her almost everyday about the things we do and add pictures. I would LOVE to turn this into book so I could look back at it and remember EVERYTHING!!

  515. As unoriginal as it is, I'd slurp my blog too. When I started to blog, I let go of the guilt that I had for not scrapbooking all of those moments that I wanted to remember. I make photo books and appreciate what you say about the time commitment. however, every time I receive a book back, it's like labor after childbirth. I'm just so happy to have it in my hands.   754. I love Blurb! I have made over 20 books from them. I digital scrapbook and have them printed there so I love the 12X12 size. I also do all of my vacation albums in the 10X8 size. They are a great company! I could easily put that $100 to good use.

A group of us (The Icebox) from Flickr published the book to raise Cancer research funds in honor of a fellow photographer who recently passed away.   815. what will my next book be….well, i'm currently working on THREE. the 2011 family blog book will be my 4th annual edition of the blog book. I am scanning and publishing a book of letters that my grandparents wrote as newlyweds when my grandpa was serving in the Korean War. and i'm working on our own love story to give the kids the dish on how true love really happens. not sure which of these projects will be finished first but i'm looking forward to them all!!

  829. The first book that I would create is of our 2010 portrait session. I love that they have such phenomenal reviews. I have used two other companies in the past for our portrait books, and I haven't been 100% satisfied with color replication. I also think that the idea of a blog book is great.
