simple samples

Jun182010 posted by Jamie 18 Comments

here’s a simple, last minute gift to make for that special dad or grandpa. and it’s pretty near free to make. just take a quick trip to home depot, lowes, wal-mart or anywhere that sells paint and grab yourself some free paint samples. as many as you think you might need.
then you’ll need to download and print off our little saying sheet HERE or HERE if you’re an only child.
after printing off the sayings, we held the paper up to light with the paint sample behind it. lined it up so the saying we wanted was centered. then flipped the paper over, traced it and cut it out.
next, use a small hole punch and punch holes in the top corner of all of your samples.
you can use ribbon to hold your samples together, or a binder ring…
either way, after you’ve got it all together, pass it over to the kids and let them write some reasons why they love dad. and if they’re not writing yet, let them draw some of their cute pictures. like this one of miss quincy and her dad…
an idea for the grandpa samples… get all of the grandchildren to write/draw something special.
Just a few samples of why we love our Dad! | Such a sweet gift idea using paint sample cards

    Cool idea, thanks!
I just made a father's day craft today based on the tissue paper art post from back at the end of May.

As my dad is a painter, i'll have to keep this one in mind for the future!

I love your blog. Thanks for the great idea! My husband is a self-employed painter so this "card" was perfect. He loved it!
