On Monday, the three of us girls, along with our mom and eight of our kids went on a fun little staycation at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort. It’s only about a 25 minute drive from where we live, so it was the perfect distance for our one night stay.
We arrived just before dinner time and check-in was a breeze. We were even able to get all of our rooms on the same floor, which made the cousins very happy. We dropped off our luggage, checked out the views and went down for dinner at Rick’s Cafe. Our waiter was so friendly and the food was very good.
We partied hard that night in Jen’s room (gel nails, heads up! and donut gems). We were all in bed around 11:00 because we had a full day of fun ahead of us.
We started the next morning off with a yummy breakfast at Rick’s Cafe. For each room we reserved, we received 2 breakfast buffets, which really helped with the cost. The buffet offered something for everyone. Waffles, pancakes, made-to-order omelets, fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries and a lot more.
After breakfast, we headed out for some swimming. We had purchased a couple Cabanas off of Groupon a few days earlier. Once we arrived at the pool, we decided to switch to the lower Cabanas so we could be right next to the activity pool and water slide. That way we were able to keep an eye on the little ones. It was nice to have a comfy private area all to ourselves. And our server made sure we had everything we needed, like ice waters and diet cokes.
The kids spent most of the day racing down the water slide, while us adults enjoyed relaxing in the pool. Just a few steps away was the private beach area. Where a sandcastle was attempted and some kayaking fun was had.
As we started to run low on sunscreen, we decided to call it a day and head back home.
Everyone enjoyed our little staycation. It was a nice break from the normal weekday activities. And no cooking or cleaning was involved, which is always a plus for me.

I really love the idea of a Staycation. Sometimes you don't need to spend a ton of money and coordinate an out of town trip to have a lot of fun and relax! I'm trying to get my Fiance to go on a staycation with me after our summer events are over.
