Random Acts of Kindness

Feb132013 posted by Jodie and Jen 10 Comments

Did you know that this week is
Random Acts of Kindness Week?
Isn’t that fun!
Some of you may know we received a precious new addition to our family yesterday!!
To help the big sisters and big brother at home feel extra special at this exciting time, Jen and I put together totes for each of them filled with fun crafts from Michaels.
We personalized each of their totes using some fun felt items.
Felt bookmarks, felt alphabet stickers and felt appliques.

We tied the tags on with ribbon and got busy filling them full of all kinds of fun.

We found pipe cleaners, pom poms, glitter glue, sun catchers and paints, slinky jrs, mosaic kits, sticker books, perler beads, coloring books, crayons, construction paper and more. We think they’ll have their hands happily busy for a few days or so. 😉

Have you done a Random Act of Kindness lately?
Michaels is participating in Random Acts of Kindness week, February 11th – 17th, by asking customers to share their own random acts of kindness on the Michaels Facebook page and to use the hashtag #RAOKDIY when sharing on Twitter and Instagram.
You can find inspiration for your own RAOK projects by following the Michaels Random Acts of Crafting Pinterest Board

This reminds me of a random act of donut kindness I experienced a while ago here.
This was my first genuine experience with someone chucking kindness my way. Thanks for the post, as I'll be looking for more opportunities to help out my fellow humans more.

Congratulations on the new edition to your family! I witnessed a random act of kindness yesterday when I was taking the subway. A man was stuck in the turnstiles because of a metro card. A stranger swiped her card to pay his fair to help him out. New Yorkers are there to help in a pinch! Love the crafty bags you made. My daughter loves Michaels and all the new arts and crafts supplies they have.

What a great idea to help your kids feel good about your "new addition." Love the totes and everything in them. But mostly love that new addition!
