Halloween Succulent Planters

Spooktacular September 2016 | Two new Halloween projects shared everyday in September on Eighteen25.com

Hello Halloween lovers! We love Eighteen25’s Spooktacular September and look forward to it every year! This is our 4th year and we are super excited to have snagged the first project of the month to kick it off, whoop! We made some not so spooky diy Halloween succulent planters to display on our holiday mantel. The best part is we used artificial pumpkins and succulents so you don’t have to worry about anything dying, whew!

Halloween Succulent Planters | Halloween DecorationsSupplies to make your own Halloween succulent planters:

  • Assorted artificial pumpkins. (Joann’s: polka dot, striped + paper mache pumpkins).
  • Artificial succulents. (Michael’s)
  • Fake moss. (Michael’s)
  • Mini paper mache jack-o-lantern. (Joann’s)
  • Paper mache skull. (Michael’s)
  • White, black, gold + orange acrylic paint. (We prefer DecoArt brand)
  • Foam brushes.
  • Drill.

Paint paper mache pumpkin and skull white. Paint pumpkin stem gold to match others. Paint jack-o-lantern stem black.

Drill holes into pumpkin toppers.

Stuff succulents into the pumpkins until you’re satisfied with your look.

Get creative with Halloween embellishments like bats + spiders (we found our spiders at the dollar store, for example). These would be so cute stacked up high or spread around throughout the house. Because they’re all artificial, they’re safe to leave out front too. We were inspired by these fall version cuties but in our Arizona heat, we needed some weather proof solutions.
