Conversation Starters For Kids

Please welcome back with us today….

Some of the best conversations that you can have with your children is over dinner or riding in the car.  You have a few minutes where they are sitting down and somewhat have their undivided attention.  Even as my children have now grown into teenagers I find that I learn the most in that 10 minute car ride to school or preparing dinner.  This doesn’t mean that I don’t get the typical “NOTHING” answers to the what did you learn in school today question, but asking some fun questions will help you learn even more about your little ones.
This {FREE} set of conversation starters for kids has 23 questions included. Some of the questions you will find in the set are:
  • What is your favorite game to play?
  • What is your favorite ice cream?
  • If you had ONE wish what would it be?
  • What would you do if you had a million dollars?
  • What did you do today for someone else?
Start asking questions and it is amazing what you will learn.  In fact, your little ones might want to know YOUR answers to these questions too!
I love the idea of laminating these cards so that you can use them over and over again.  Ask the questions now and then again in 6 months.  What different answers will you hear?  How will their answers change as they grow?
It would be fun to write down their answer on the back of the cards as well to remember what they said.  {Don’t forget to include the date!}
What is your child’s favorite movie?  Is it Frozen, Superman or Transformers?
When I asked my little friend Jackson where he would go on vacation he said he wanted to go on a Disney cruise!  Me?  I want to go back to the Bahamas!
I hope that you enjoy these conversation starters.  I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear the answers!

    Love this! I am a 5th grade teacher and we do Morning Meeting each day. We ask one question and each child gives their answer. This will give us a lot more ideas! 😀

    I love this idea. I can't get it to work for me either. It just comes up with some computer language.
