i’m a big fan of snail mail.
who doesn’t love getting a fun surprise in the mail?
so every year one of the items on our summer to-do list is
write and mail a letter.
so that we did. 🙂
we gathered up some papers, envelopes, stamps, pens, markers, stickers and washi tape.
then went at it!
the hardest part was deciding who to write the letter to…
some people had to write more than one… because deciding on one person was just too hard!
from what we hear… the recipients were pretty happy about receiving a little love in the mail.
now go send some happy mail today!!

How wonderful that you are passing a love for "real mail" to your children. I love finding my mother or aunt's handwriting among all those bills, political letters and advertisements.

So cute, that is such a good idea!

Love it! One of my favorite things to do is to write out thank you's…. For even the smallest of things. Getting a hand written thank you in the mail??? Brightens everyone's day!

There is nothing more exciting that receiving real mail in the mail rather than bills and junk.

I also love sending out letters! Ever since I've moved and had time on my hands, I've been finding times to make and send out cards and letters. It's so much fun!

Love this, lets help start a trend of snail mail again. Mailing some out tomorrow to spread the love.

Hi there..
It is exciting to get snail mail once in a while isn't it? Usually it only does happen once in a while. The recipients looked happy to. That was a great exercise…

We are actually doing this today! Except the kids are sending Las Vegas postcards to some of their Oregon classmates/friends.

we are a big fan of snail mail at our house too. it is something that we are trying to pass along to our kids who have grown up in such an electronic, instant world

What a great idea! Kids, today, don't know the joy of waiting for the mail carrier to deliver that special letter! I just re-connected with a childhood pen pal I had. We still live on opposite sides of the country, but are getting to know each other again!!!

I'm glad you shared this post but it makes me a bit sad that snail mail is seen as a "cool idea" rather than a part of everyday life.
Keep sending mail everyone!
