So, in honor of Mother’s Day,
we are sharing a recipe with you that is one of our mom’s.
This poppy seed bread is loved by many
and we hope you will like it too!
It’s very moist
and has a super yummy glaze that is drenched on top.
Mom’s Poppy Seed Bread
(makes 2 loaves)
Add:
• 2 1/4 c. sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 1/2 c. milk
• 1 1/2 T. poppy seeds
• 1 1/2 t. vanilla
• 1 1/2 t. almond extract
• 1 1/2 t. butter flavoring
• 1 c. + 2 T. oil
Then add:
• 3 c. flour
• 1 t. salt
• 2 t. baking powder
Glaze:
• 1/4 c. orange juice
• 3/4 c. sugar
• 1/4 t. butter flavoring
• 1/2 t. almond extract
• 1/2 t. vanilla
Grease and flour your loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool bread for 10 minutes then, pour glaze on top.
