Summer of Groupon | Celebrating our Anniversary

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary last week. It’s year SEVENTEEN for us!!

I took it upon myself to plan an evening out with this awesome guy of mine. We started things off trying something new… ARCHERY. It sounded fun and it was an indoor facility, so we didn’t have to deal with the 100+ degree temps outside.

I found us a Groupon for Impact Archery that included two hours of range time for both of us for half off the regular price.  

All of the equipment is included so all we had to do was show up. When we first arrived, we were given a quick lesson, set up on our lanes and we were ready to go.   

 

At first, my arrow had a hard time making it to the wall. And then I’d get it to the wall, only to have it bounce off and land on the floor. Pretty soon, I had the hang of it and I was finally hitting the target. I never got a bullseye, but I made it onto the paper (and I was pretty pleased with that).

 

We had a great time and I can’t wait to go back with the kids, I think they will have just as much fun as we did.  

The second part of our date included food… and that makes me happy. 🙂 We headed over to the Rio Hotel & Casino for the Carnival World Buffet. I’ve always been a fan of the all-you-can-eat buffet, my husband… not so much. But, with over 300 dishes to choose from, I didn’t hear him complain once. There are flavors to enjoy from all across the globe. I filled my plate with selections from Mexico and Italy. If you like to venture out more than I do, there’s also sushi, crab legs, made-t0-order teppanyaki, barbecue ribs and steak. I couldn’t help myself when it was time for dessert. I had to sample a little bit of everything. Homemade pies, cakes, pastries, gelato and cookies. We left with very full bellies.  

 
 

When we got home, I couldn’t wait to surprise the hubby with a special gift… his own pair of Beats by Dre Wireless Bluetooth Headphones. He’s been wanting some since our girls opened their Beats up on Christmas morning. I’m sure he would have permanently borrowed theirs if they weren’t pink and neon green. They seriously have THE BEST sound. It’s kind of like having a private concert in your head. They’re wireless, so you can stream music from any bluetooth device up to 30 feet away. And the ear pads are super comfortable with controls for managing your music and phone calls.
