Halloween Pumpkin Wreath

Halloween-Pumpkin-Wreath-6Hi everyone, I’m Vanessa from Tried & True and I’m so excited to be back here for Spooktacular 2015! I’ve participated for the last few years and sharing an easy (and inexpensive!) wreath has become a bit of a tradition. Previous projects included glowing skulls and skeleton hands so this year I thought I would go a bit more classic with glittered pumpkins. Hope you all enjoy!

Halloween Pumpkin Wreath

Materials:

  • Dollar Store Foam Pumpkins
  • 16.5 Gauge Rebar Tie Wire (or any other wire that is super sturdy, not floral wire!)
  • Hot Glue/Hot Glue Gun
  • Black/White Ribbon
  • Krylon Glitter Blast – Orange Burst

Halloween-Pumpkin-Wreath-1Step One. I found these foam pumpkins at Dollar Tree the other day and while they’re a bit bright for my taste, they’re a perfect base for a few coats of glitter spray paint! After the paint has dried, string together on a long strip of wire in approximately the same spot on each pumpkin.

Halloween-Pumpkin-Wreath-2Step Two. Notice how this tutorial doesn’t use a wreath form? Absolutely not necessary when you use a strong enough wire to keep it’s shape! Just form a circle and twist tie the ends together to make your wreath. Easy, right?! I like making wreaths with this method because you can make them as big or as small as your door needs just by adjusting the number of pumpkins you use.

Halloween-Pumpkin-Wreath-3Step Three. Once you have your wreath shape formed, use a bit of hot glue on the back to keep the pumpkins from rotating on the wire. Almost there…

Halloween-Pumpkin-Wreath-4Step Four. Depending on the look you want, you can either add a large decorative or a simple modern bow. I love how minimal and yet so very halloween-y this black/white ribbon looked with the glitter pumpkins. Halloween and glam? Does it get any better?!

Halloween-Pumpkin-Wreath-7Hope you guys liked this minimal and modern take on a classic Halloween wreath! Thank you again to the always awesome eighteen25 ladies for letting me join in the Spooktacular fun!
