chalkboard chore charts

Jul52012 posted by Jamie 14 Comments

SUPPLIES
• 6×9 clip boards (found these at michaels)
• paints + paint brushes
• silhouette chalkboard vinyl
• silhouette transfer paper
• chalk or chalk marker

paint clip boards. (on these ones, the clamp comes off, making it easier to paint.)
while those are drying, open up your silhouette studio…
i used the rectangle scalloped frame from the 4 scalloped shapes (in the online store) and just drew a rectangle for my son’s. they are all about 4.5 x 6.5. the font is bebas neue.
once you’re done with your design, cut them out using the chalkboard vinyl. remove all the excess vinyl. apply the transfer paper over your design. and then apply your design onto your dry clip boards.

then use your chalk or chalk marker (so much cleaner) to write out those chores.
my kids enjoy getting to mark things off as they go (at least for a couple days).
ETA: I found the Bistro Chalk Marker on Etsy

I get Silhouette envy almost every time I visit your blog. Maybe someday…in the meantime, I will drool over all of the cute projects I wish I could make! 🙂

A creative way of telling your kid's responsibility without being too pushy. In fact the reminders looks like a piece of art and not a chore sheet anymore. 🙂

Love these!! And can you PLEASE tell me where you got that chalk marker?! I've been looking for ages and only find duds that don't work as nicely as yours appears to.

I have tried dry erase chore charts, printables, etc… and none were as cute as this! I'm getting me some chalkboard vinyl and clipboards – thanks for the inspiration!

    Pinned… 😉

Oh so cute! To those wondering, they do sell the chalk bistro markers at Hobby Lobby (located on the aisle with the scrapbook markers, not the chalk) but I don't know how well they work. Thanks for the great chore chart idea.

Those look way cute! Even without a Silhouette, I bet you could just cute the vinyl to size, since I don't have one I might have to try this!
